Situation:

A Cleveland, Ohio-based cosmetics manufacturer indicated an interest in having Westminster Manufacturing produce clear plastic refillable Christmas tree ornaments and candy canes to be used as value-added containers for multi-unit packages of lip gloss. The manufacturer wanted to see a solids model of the containers before committing to an order.

Project:

PTDC engineer Jason Williams produced three-dimensional prototype ornaments and candy canes using StereoLithography technology. Westminster was able to use these solids models to demonstrate the function of the containers to the cosmetics manufacturer.

Result:

An initial order of 750,000 pieces is expected.
