John P. Beaumont, assistant professor of engineering

John Beaumont has over 23 years of experience in plastics product design and processing. He currently is an assistant professor at Penn State Erie where he teaches mold design, product design, and molding analysis (MoldFlow and C-Mold). His industrial credits include positions as Technical Manager for Moldflow Pty. Ltd.'s North American Operations and Engineering Manager for Ciba Vision Corporation. Last year, John established Beaumont Runner Technologies, which is the exclusive license of the "Melt Flipper" technology for solving mold-filling imbalances. Additionally, John is the founder and Director of the Plastics CAE Center at Penn State Erie and the past chair of the Injection Molding Division of SPE. He has several product and process patents and has served as an expert witness in mold design litigations. Currently, John is authoring a book on the practical application of injection molding simulation, and is on the advisory board for the Journal of Injection Molding Technology. John holds a B.S. and M.S. in plastics engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
